Why Should A Team Be Developed? The team must be developed because if they remain thesame those involved in the team remain the same. This will lead to the team and its membersbecoming stagnant and comfortable. Developing a team means to grow and change to where it accomplishes themission of the team. The mission statesthe purpose of the team and tells where it is headed. How to Develop the Team? Workshops Sessions that are put together every few monthsto teach the team new concepts that relate to that ministry. This gives the leader(s) of the team a chanceto empower and equip the members of the team. For example: In Guest Services, the greeters team could have quarterly workshops andan area of that meeting could work to develop their “people skills.” Teaching Sessions This session is a more regular meeting (once amonth). This time is used primarily tohave a “house cleaning” time. This is atime where the team leader addresses any problems that have come up or toimpart new knowledge to help the team as a whole achieve excellence. Set Meetings This would be a time the team could cometogether weekly or every other week. These meetings are dedicated to the encouraging and empowering of theteam members. This is also a great timeto have question time about what they do. This is where the leader castes vision and empowers the members to servein excellence.
